I've been playing with online configurators for the last hour. I really like the blue longroofs. I think I'd take the BMW outi of all of them because I like how I can get it made so personally for me. Plus that blue with the red leather, while kind of ridiculous, looks gorgeous I think.
BMW: 328d, M sport, red leather, aluminum accents, black grill, cold weather package. $52,175
Mercedes: E63 AMG wagon, need I say more? $117,625
Audi: Kinda boring compared to the other 2. Still nice though. $51,100
Not included are the Subaru Outback and Volvo V60. Although I like the Outback, it isn't something I would like to own in its current iterations. I've posted about the Volvo before and it isn't available as the Polestar anymore.
Other than those not pictured, these are the only wagons currently available new for 2015 in the good ol' USA. I'm quite saddened by this fact. Come on, America!
What do you all think?

I too love a nice blue wagon!

Blue with a red interior, very nice. I have a blue w123 Merc, I wish it had a red interior. I want a fintail with a red interior so bad! Or any Merc with anything like this.

Lovely blue wagons.

blue is nice but green is great too

I like the BMW the most, it is also the cheapest, that red leather is so lovely with the true blue.

Agreed!

Green is great, I agree. Dark green is always a color I tend to prefer if blue isn't available in a shade I like.
I wish the Polestar was still available for order as a package, that rebel blue is awesome.

Why does Europe have all the great wagons. Sometimes I dislike the US and what the general population considers good body styles. You want a sedan? Get a wagon dammit.

That is very red! The blue Merc interiors are always pretty crazy I think.

There is a more maroon too, but you might as well go for it.

and it's also called Swedish Racing Green.

In my fantasy world I'll take an E63 wagon in white, with black/red interior.
In a more realistic but still fantasy world (because the US is dumb), New 205 C-class wagon with 4matic and the om651 4 banger tractor engine. Also in white with black/red interior.

Actually Volvo is going to make a few more S/V60 Polestars. While they were originally going to make 750 total, demand was much higher than expected so they will extend that number to an undisclosed amount.

I need this.

You just made my night. I hope there are enough that I can get a used one for relatively cheap in a few years. Thanks!

I like your fantasy world. I'd go for the AMG but it seems like it be kind of useless to have so much power and not be able to use it regular.

Golf R wagon? If so, I want it in the US.

Meh. I live within half an hour of a drag strip and a road course. Lots of on ramps. Oooh! It's not even considered a gas guzzler!

I totally forgot about Swedish racing green until you said this. Please excuse my momentary ignorance.

I live near lots of curvy, country roads and about 90 minutes from Mid-Ohio. Plus a local dragstrip who's future is currently up in the air. You know where Car and Driver does their CotY road testing? Three hour road trip to some beautiful reclaimed land and ridiculously great roads in Eastern Ohio too. Damn, give me that E63 I was wrong. I think I'd still prefer the BMW though, I like them a bit more. Can always put on a bigger turbo or engine swap if more power is wanted. If I'm dropping nearly $50k on a vehicle I think I could afford something like a swap.
Sorry, I didn't think, I've been on a combo of Dayquil and Sudafed all day. Kind of coming down from the effects.

I blame my Dayquil and sudafed addled mind.

Fair enough, to each his own. But listen to their exhaust notes and get back to me. Honestly, IMO, the only way the BMW wins is with fuel economy. Looks are subjective obviously so that could go either way.

Yup, green it pretty great:
But for a new one, I would be rocking Imperial Blue on the red leather.

Saw it in person. Such want.

I did not know Audi had that color.

I think both look great, very well styled. The BMW is a better bargain I think, but the Mercedes is just that touch of insanity you want to own.

Quit tempting me with things I can't have!
![]() 02/09/2015 at 09:54 |

In this comparison the BMW is definitely the better bargain, especially as far as daily practicality is concerned. Now that C-class I mentioned earlier would be a much better comparison. I think the BMW might end up a couple grand cheaper comparably equipped, but me being me I would still go for the Mercedes without hesitation.

That C-class looks lovely. I really hope that the wagon segment starts expanding in the US again there are so many nice vehicles that could be brought from Europe to the US market.

I completely agree.

What do you think of the Honda Crosstour? I personally quite like them and enjoyed driving the one I tested over the summer.
